Africa was known as the “Dark Continent” because it remained unexplored for a fairly long period of time. One of the main factors that made is difficult for the multinational companies and international business hunters to venture in to the continent of Africa were: the barrier of Language and Culture.

With more than 2,000 distinct languages, Africa has a third of the world's languages with less than a seventh of the world's population.

Africa's linguistic diversity can even be found among the same country. Within the continent which has about 54 countries there are more than 3000 diverse tribes with different cultures, languages and dialects. It is found by marketing scholars that culture has an important impact on marketing. With the wave of globalization and the expansion of multinational companies to unexplored markets in Africa, it becomes a must to normalize products and services to the local society specifications.

On 2007, Speak2Africa comes to world basing on the fact that a cultural gap must be bridged. We started as an association of African freelancers leaded by Miss. Amanda Ngidi from her desk in a small office in one of Dakar’s streets. Our first milestone was orbiting around the idea to gather the efforts of African Freelancers, to open the market doors for them and to spreed the industry knowledge among them. In few months we built a straight business relationship with many leaders of the localization industry. We chose to be a shadow soldier regarding the technical challenges we survived in our part of the world that time. Within the days, we gained experience and clear vision on the market and the accelerated development in the industry. 

On 2009, Speak2Africa achieved the first milestone and passed to the next one to become a Localization Agency specialized in African Languages. A small B2B company with headquarter in Dakar and Operation Office in Tunis. Our team includes Project Managers, in-house translators and Language Engineers. The most of our freelancers are collaborating with Speak2Africa for continued years. Nowadays, we have the competent teams and necessary experience to go far in our business. We are accompanying many MLVs and some Direct Clients within the African Culture Ocean. Our mission is to assist them in communicating the right message to their clients.
